The Lyle & Scott brand was founded in 1874. The founders were William Lyle, as well as Walter Scott, who entered the company with an 800 pound loan. In the company's 125-year history, such spectacular projects as those for Christian Dior or Michael Kors took place. The true character of the Lyle and Scott brand, however, was given to it only in 1967, when it began to produce clothing strictly for golfers. It gained popularity quite quickly and was noticed by such stars of the time as Tony Jacklin, Gary Player or Greg Norman. In 2003, the Lyle & Scott brand underwent a kind of rebranding and met the tastes of the young generation in a completely new style. It was then that the Lyle and Scott logo changed, and a golden eagle was found there. Clothes of this brand began to be worn by members of bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian or Pete Doherty. Television presenters mainly in Great Britain also had an important role in promoting the brand. On the wave of this popularity, the first stationary store in London was opened in 2005. Even Cristiano Ronaldo himself was seen in Lyle and Scott products. Currently, the brand is slowly coming back to its roots, i.e. to its golf style. In recent years, the Lyle and Scott brand has entered the mainstream and successfully competes with major brands such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste. In Poland, however, in the Lyle & Scott brand we can see even a well-known rapper - Pelson, who in the past belonged to the precursors of Polish rap, i.e. the Molesta Ewenement group. Currently, one of his greatest passions, apart from rap, is playing golf.
